The Beginners Burlesque Art of Tease 4 week course teaches you the fundamentals of Burlesque, by the established performer and instructor Minsky Malone (House of Burlesque Creative Director) who will guide you through the classes making you grow in confidence and bringing out the temptress in you.
Minsky has twenty years experience as an International Burlesque performer and Director. Her titles include: Ms Australia's Business Mans Choice and Hottest Show. She has directed many of her own Burlesque shows including the sell out Pandora's Dolls and the the Dali Burlesque Show at the National Gallery of Victoria. Recently 2011 Minsky judged Miss Burlesque Australia and the Miss New Zealand Burlesque Competition where she also taught.
To dance and move in a slow sensuous manner.The sensual slowness opens your awareness to your body and lets the viewer see and feel the body movement and shape. This is an important part of Burlesque regardless of your age or body shape.
The peeling of the glove and stockings in a sensual and magnetic manner - an art form in itself, which you will accomplish while being taught characterization, to exude being genuine and authentic.
A Cabaret chair routine, incorporating all the above. The beauty with this routine (think the movie Cabaret) is you can easily perform the routine when not at House of Burlesque.
The most popular request received from students is to learn a private dance, which is taught and uses all the same principles instructed through the course.
When you combine all you have learned your confidence will grow - all while gaining an artistic expression and having fun.

You've helped me with my self esteem, how to feel self worthy and that all us girls are special no matter what. I love the way you teach us to respect ourselves and value our bodies but still be sexy and sensual without being indecent.

Private Lessons
For private one on one lessons prices start at $75 per hour. This includes the studio space and instructor. Following are the group course details:
Class Enrolments.
The studio having a separate lounge means you can arrive early with cups of tea provided. If rescheduling or requesting refunds please email enquiries@houseofburlesque.com. All you need to do is bring yourself as everything else is provided. The full cost is $97 with GST and all booking fees included included. The course is for women of all ages and fitness levels and is designed for beginners.
You can book with Paypal, credit cards or bank transfers. The one hour classes run on the same day and time on a weekly basis. Classes are limited to 15 students to ensure you learn.
What do I wear? With most Burlesque performances heels are worn therefore practicing in enclosed heels rather than strapped heels for stability reasons, can help you prepare for performing. Bring dance shoes if you have them though you are not expected to purchase any special shoes for this course. You can even wear flats or what you are already wearing.
Regarding clothing most students come as they are, what's important is you being comfortable. There are corsets, showgirl fans and gloves you can use in all classes.
