A big thank you to the students (should say performers) having just completed the course performed a pleasure giving pro standard show taught and choreographed by Samantha Ward, who also wowed audiences at the the recent Melbourne Fringe Festival.


For the past ten years Samantha Ward has developed her love of dancing through various styles including Charleston, Rock’n’Roll, Lindy Hop and West Coast Swing. She has won numerous awards and state titles in team events, freestyle and solo. Continually looking for new ways to do things, she travels interstate to develop her style with professional international dancers. She has always had a passion for dance and is excited to incorporate her unique Charleston style with the ‘House of Burlesque.’
Samantha is an accomplished teacher in many styles with experience in choreographing routines, providing technique critique and styling. Her students welcome her clear and simple way of explaining movement to make every class dynamic and fun. She has a very warm, approachable, character and ensures everyone learns during her classes.
With private one on one lessons prices start at $75 per hour. This includes the studio space and instructor. Following are the group course details:
The next Charleston course starts Tuesday 23rd November at 7.00pm. Each class is limited to 14 participants, even though the the studio can accommodate double - by limiting participants it ensures you learn. The studio opens half hour before the class begins with cups of tea provided. You will receive the CD of music you perform to (or available by downloading). The course cost is $150 (with no other hidden costs). At House of Burlesque when you book for a six week course you are entitled to six classes - sometimes 7 when the final performance class (a fun free evening to invite friends and family) with rehearsals is added on at no cost. If rescheduling or requesting refunds please email info@houseofburlesque.com. The Charleston classes require no previous dance experience. Regarding what to wear - you can attend as already dressed, if wearing heels enclosed small heels are recommended, though you can also wear flats. All you need to do is bring yourself.
