Graduates from the Fan Dancing courses performed to great crowd responses at the Fringe Festival sell out shows. We will continue to develop further acts or you can do your own shows, to which we will assist.

The qualified and accredited dance instructor (and drama teacher) Tara Daniel, will guide you through the course with no dance background necessary.

House of Burlesque introduces a six week stage and drama course.

This course compliments and can be seen as an extension of the Fan Dance Course.

Here is a brief description of the six week course.

The course is specifically for performers who are interested in Burlesque Performance; it will focus primarily on physical work. The first four sessions introduce the work of three major practitioners who work physically; Rudolf Laban, Jacques Lecoq and Jerzy Grotowski. Students will participate in movement exercises designed to assist in creating characters with authentic physical qualities. The final movement session acts as a transition to text/dialogue work and allows students to create their own monologues. Students may then choose to use the monologues they have written or choose from a selection of monologues taken from classic and contemporary scripts for the two sessions dealing with text and dialogue.

If you have any other questions please phone Charlie Robinson on 0410 805 878 or e-mail:
